Seems like one bad thing happens after another.. I play modded worlds, one I’m mainly usually currently, kinda of got bugged out because of a retarded cat mod I had just installed and lo behold the damage it created… Thankfully, I did do a backup as it prompted me to. Thing is, I’m a noob even tho I’ve played for 8 years, I have never done a backup world, so my question is how does one load it up, do note that I use curseforge so the files might be different. If you can give a step by step guide that’d be great and appreciated!

To backup your world, just create a copy of your world in your saves folder
If the world breaks, just remove this world and copy the backup world into it
In some cases, it is possible to repair/fix a broken world
If your world is crashing, close the game, go to the logs-folder and add the latest.log with https://paste.ee/

Just create a folder "backup" at any location and put your world copy in it
For older Minecraft versions there are also mods like AromaBackup (1.12.2) which is creating automatically backups

It appears that the OP used some tool to make a world backup, or maybe even Forge itself (example; "a world backup will automatically be created in your saves diretcory") - it should be somewhere within the .minecraft folder (or custom game directory, which you should always use from modded/older versions. In any case, you can locate the directory by going in-game and in the menu for resource packs there is an option to open the resource pack folder, with the actual game directory being one level up; e.g. ".minecraft\resourcepacks" and saves in ".minecraft\saves", and presumably, a backup folder like ".minecraft\backups" or ".minecraft\saves\backups" or even in the folder for the world itself (exactly where depends on what you used but it should be within the game directory and have a similar name as your world; if it is a zipped (compressed) folder you'll have to extract it).
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4? - To post a comment, please login.
